Chris Carr

Athletics

While still a student at Manteca High in 1984, Christopher Allen Carr was the Junior National Dirt Track Champion. Upon graduating, Carr turned professional.

Carr is a seven time National Champion in the 600 Series Dirt Bike classification. No other person in history has accomplished such a feat. The biggest honor he has attained is winning the American Motorcycle Association's Grand National Championship in 1992. It was an accomplishment he repeated in 1999.

Carr was Rookie of the Year in 1985 for the Grand National Dirt Track Series — the same year he graduated from Manteca High. He was the 1992 Motorcycle Dirt Track Racer of the Year and the 1995 Rookie of the Year for the SuperBike National Road Race Series.

He was inducted into the first class of the Manteca High Hall of Fame in 1989.
